Hi,
This behavior will be generated only when the customer is logged in with his WordPress user account or you have some caching plugin. For these scenarios the user must log off and if its the caching plugin then you need to exclude from caching the pages where the booking form is located.
So my customers has no login details. but w do have some sort of caching plugin provided by our hosting. Will disable that.
Is there anyway to test? I dont want to wait until my customers complain again just incase :\
Yes, try to make a couple of test appointments with different email addresses. If you can't generate the behavior then the problem is solved.
Okay, I tried that with no problems, but I didn't have a problem with it myself anyway!. Is there a way to add autocomplete="off" to other fields just like the mobile number?
One more question. I noticed some of my customers listed multiple times due to using different email addresses and in a recent update you guys switched the differentiation point to the phone number instead of the email. Could this cause any problems? should I remove the duplicated customers?
Thanks Denis
Those fields won't be auto-filled if customers won't be logged in with their WordPress user accounts.
It shouldn't cause any problems, I don't advise deleting customers as their appointments will also be deleted.
Great that helped me a lot, one last thing;
does bookly offers any hooks? I would like to make sure who ever creating the bookings is logged out.
Currently, there's no support for hooks.
Thanks Denis, your information helped to solve the issue but we don't know how it did happen!.
Is there any case where the customer gets assigned to user account automatically? for example, if they book from a computer that already signed in?
As we discovered today that many of our customers who have the problem have there account linked to an admin account we use the on-site computer and we are not sure how did that link happen!
Thank you.
If this setting is enabled: Create WordPress user account for customers - then Bookly will be creating WordPress user accounts for all new customers. If the user is logged in then the new customer will be associated with the existing user account.
"If the user is logged in then the new customer will be associated with the existing user account."
Great this explain it, thank you. I assume there is no way to turn this off.
Currently, there's no option to disable only this part.
Hi Bookly team! Thanks for above thread—it helped me identify an issue I was having on a client's site. However, even upon disabling all caching (I believe) for the site, I'm still getting the pre-filled information when I'm signed in. This isn't a major issue for customers since they will not have User accounts. However, it's causing confusion for my client's team while testing the plug-in before going live. Is there something beyond turning off the cache/excluding the page from cache that I can try to eliminate the autofill from happening in the Make an Appointment form? Thanks
