Email Notifications for 100% Discount Bookings

All our regular email notifications are working correctly. When a booking is made through Cloud Stripe, emails are sent to both client and worker. So email notifications do definitely work. But when we supply a client with a 100% discount code to allow them to claim a free booking, no email notifications are sent. How do I get free bookings to trigger email confirmations?
