Custom Padding Time Based on Different Locations for Language Lessons
Hello Bookly Support and Community,
I'm currently facing a challenge with managing padding times between appointments in a multi-location setup. Our business involves 1:1 language lessons, and we use the Bookly plugin with the Collaborative Services add-on to manage our services across different locations.
The specific issue arises when two students book consecutive lessons but in different locations. We need to implement a padding time to accommodate the teacher's travel time between these locations. Bookly's current padding time feature applies universally to services, meaning it also adds unnecessary time between bookings at the same location, which isn't ideal for us.
Ideally, we'd like the padding time to only apply when appointments are booked in different locations, not when they're back-to-back in the same location. This way, we can ensure efficient scheduling without unnecessarily extending the wait time for students booked at the same location.
I've reviewed the documentation and explored various settings within the Collaborative Services and Locations add-ons, but haven't found a solution that precisely fits this requirement. Adjusting the general padding time or manipulating individual service durations doesn't provide the flexibility we need for location-specific padding.
Does anyone have experience with a similar setup or know of any workarounds that might help us achieve this? Perhaps there's a way to customize the plugin's behavior for our specific use case that I'm not aware of.
I'm open to creative solutions, including custom code if necessary. Our goal is to streamline the booking process for both our staff and clients while accommodating the logistical challenges of operating in multiple locations.
Thank you in advance for your assistance and suggestions.
Best regards,
David

Hello David,
Unfortunately, the scenario you described cannot be configured using the current Bookly settings. To address this, we suggest dividing the day into two parts with specific staff schedules for each location. This approach will help minimize travel time between locations and better accommodate your requirements.
