Paypal Pending & Duplicate Orders
Hi there,
We keep getting customers (not every single one - but a decent amount) that become "Paypal Pending" in our bookly system. Sometimes the payment status moves to completed, but then it adds a whole new order number - sometimes more than one?
See the image below, each color is a customer. The customers only made one booking, and have not returned to make more than one. Therefore, it must be the bookly system creating orders. This adds a layer of confusion when reporting data from the website, which I have to manually process in excel to report.
What's the deal behind Paypal Pending?
Why does Bookly automatically create duplicates
How can we fix it?

Hello Oliver,
If a client is redirected to PayPal Checkout but doesn’t complete the payment (or click the cancel button) and simply closes the window, Bookly will indefinitely wait for a confirmation from PayPal. To prevent such appointments from occupying a timeslot in your schedule, you can configure the setting under Bookly > Settings > Payments > Time interval of payment gateway. For instance, if you set this to 1 hour, the appointment and payment will be marked as 'Rejected' after an hour of waiting.
We recommend checking these payments in your PayPal dashboard to confirm that they haven't been processed. Once confirmed, you can safely set the 'Time interval of payment gateway' to 1 hour.
