Does Bookly allow limiting number of appointments?

I am looking to set a capacity of 3 customer per staff member for each hour. Each appointment to have 1 customer only, so in that hr, only 3 appointments (of 1 customer each) must be allowed.

Any additional appointment in that hr should not be allowed.

Can this be done in Bookly? If so how?

  • Hello Amish, Bookly won't allow a customer to create a separate appointment for a staff member who is already occupied by another booking. You may consider the Bookly Group Booking (Add-on) for your scenario; this add-on allows to accept group bookings by configuring staff and service capacity. This way there will be a booking for the same staff/service at the same time for several persons. Please refer to the links below:

  • Hi Bookly team,

Thanks for your response. I have already tried the Bookly Group Booking addon. It only sets up the capacity to restricts adding additional customers within an appointment.

I am talking about limiting capacity within the time slot.

Let me try to explain with an example.

I have a booking service for 1 hr where the staff can service 3 customers. The Bookly group booking addon has been set up to staff capacity = 3. Now, we have 1 appointment per customer. With this, I will have 3 separate appointments with 1 customer each. The Bookly group booking plugin should now restrict adding any more appointments to that time slot for that staff member, but it does not.

The Group booking plugin is limiting the addition of a 4th customer to an appointment that has 3 customers in it, but it does not block anyone from adding a 4th appointment.

I hope this clarifies what I am asking.

  • Hello Amish,

If you want to have 1 appointment per customer, then you should create 3 staff members and assign them to 1 service. You can then hide the staff selection field in your form if you wish. So when staff #1 is booked, there will be 2 more available.
