Can clients book appointments for more than one person at a time?

Yes. The "Number of Persons" field can be used when a customer wants to book an appointment for several people. This is only possible if you have set the capacity for the service to allow for more than one person to receive the service at the same time (See Bookly -> Services).

    Hi there,

I can't seem to get the number of person field to load on my site. All my services have capacity set to 4 and have 4 staff.

    Please assist.

Hi Zayed, when you add the booking form short code on a page, you need to untick this field - "Number of persons"

I am not sure if I understand this. If the number of services is set to 3, that means the staff member is able to handle 3 services at the same time? Thanks.

No, the same staff member can handle three customers. So three customers can book the same time slot for the same service.

    Hi there,
I just bought this booking system. I really like it. It's great.
The only problem I have is when I try to cancel the other staff member availability for a specific time slot when one of the staff members is busy.
So, only one staff member should be able to handle one customer at the same time.
Is there a work around this?

    Looking forward hearing from you.

    Regards

Hi, the capacity field for the provided service should be set for one person and only one person could book this service for one staff member.

I have google calendar sync (both ways) enabled and once one person has booked one slot, it stops being available for other people to book. Even though I have the capacity of the service set to 40
Incidentally my service duration is 1 day. I want for lots of people to be able to book into the same session.

Hi, if customers will try to book the same service then there should be 39 available slots to booked.

    Hi
I think the problem I have is that as soon at least one of any service is booked, no other, different. services in the same timeslot can be booked for the same staff member. Although more of the same service can be booked in the same timeslot - because as you say, the staff member has capacity to do more of the same service, but they could not be in two places at the same time doing a different service.

I thought of having lots of fake staff members but then I'm finding the Google calander sync isn't working under my design.

I'm trying to use bookly outside of it's main purpose so no problem, I will look elsewhere.

"Hi, the capacity field for the provided service should be set for one person and only one person could book this service for one staff member."

If one staff member book 3 booking on the same time and want to reschedule them one by one later one, it's not possible ??

  • Avatar
    Denis

In this case you will move the whole appointment with all three customers, or remove the customers in part and move them to a different appointment/create a new appointment.

Hi, nice plugin but how do I get the dropdown on the service booking form to give me options be greater than just "1" when the maximum service capacity is set to "10" ie. i want to have up to 10 persons booking one session slot.
    Many thanks.

Hi, currently there's no option to set a minimum value for the capacity setting.

  • Avatar
    markbrealey

So in effect it's 1 person per booking per service time slot! That's not what your information implies in this answer to the main question in this thread: "Yes. The "Number of Persons" field can be used when a customer wants to book an appointment for several people. This is only possible if you have set the capacity for the service to allow for more than one person to receive the service at the same time (See Bookly -> Services)."...

One person can book an appointment for himself or for a bigger group, by choosing a bigger number for the capacity field or each customer can book the appointment for himself in part. The only difference will be that in one case one customer will book an appointment for 6 persons (for example), while in other case 6 persons will book separately and you'll the names for all 6 persons.

Excellent, so what do I change in the short code to get more than "1" in the drop down as I've tried the default of "1" and "10"...?
    *[bookly-form show_number_of_persons="10" hide="staff_members,date,week_days,time_range,categories,services"]*
Capacity field in service is currently set to 10.
    Thank you.

The value for that code will work this way: 1 - the number of persons field will be displayed; 0 - the number of persons field will be hidden.

??? I'm obviously not being clear here. I'll ask another way - how do I get the option to book to be more than one person in the booking? I want to have from 1 to 10 people booked at one time to a booking slot.
    Many thanks.

When you book on the front-end you need to choose how many persons will come for the appointment by choosing the relevant number for the number of persons field.

  • Avatar
    markbrealey

Ah, you see that is where the issue lays. I only have the option for 1 person in the drop-down... :)

  • Avatar
    Denis

You need to set a bigger capacity for this service. You can do it in the services menu :)

  • Avatar
    markbrealey

Yes, I know, I have it set to 10.. :)

  • Avatar
    markbrealey

Oh now I see, you can't change the capacity without starting over with the service details (it may just be me!). I now have the option to have up to 10 people in one booking however how do I get the system to charge per person for the service as currently it charges the service fee no matter how many attendees? many thanks.

The price is multiplied with the number of chosen persons when you book on the front end.

  • Avatar
    markbrealey

That's what I thought but it isn't. The booking for 5 persons just states the single price for 1 as in this example for £4.00 booking price:
"You selected a booking for Sensory room by Sensory Room Staff at 12:00 pm on January 20, 2017. The price for the service is £4.00.
Please provide your details in the form below to proceed with booking."

You'll need to update the codes for the front-end, you can do it in the appearance menu, and changing the relevant code/s from {service_price} to {total_price}.

  • Avatar
    markbrealey

Ok, I'll try that. I really appreciate our help with this :)
    Thank you very much.

Hi. If my client have 2 kids (obviously they will not fill the book form), how can I set the form to receive more than 1 person, but not at the same time in the calendar.
For example: If my service time is 30 mins per costumer and this guy will come with his 2 kids, how can I reserve a 1:30 minutes slot for that client?

  • Avatar
    Denis

Hi Juan Carlos, for this case you could create a new service with a longer duration or you could use the multiply add-on, with this add-on the same service can be booked for more appointments in a sequential order.
