Getting Started with Cloud Cron in Bookly

Cloud Cron is a Bookly Cloud service that handles all your scheduled tasks automatically — without requiring any server-side cron job configuration.

What Cloud Cron Does

With Cloud Cron enabled, Bookly automatically executes:

  • Email notifications – Appointment reminders, birthday greetings, staff agendas, and follow-ups are sent on schedule.
  • SMS notifications – Text message reminders and alerts are delivered at the right time.
  • SMS campaigns – Bulk messages to your client base are processed automatically.
  • Appointment status updates – Statuses change automatically based on your rules (e.g., marking past appointments as Completed).

Why It Matters

Normally, WordPress relies on WP-Cron or a server-side cron job to run scheduled tasks. If your hosting doesn’t support reliable cron execution, notifications and status updates may be delayed or missed entirely.

Cloud Cron solves this by running your scheduled tasks in the cloud – reliably and on time, regardless of your server setup.

How to Enable Cloud Cron

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Bookly Cloud.
  2. Find Cloud Cron in the list of Cloud products and click Get started

Cloud Cron will begin processing your scheduled tasks automatically.

Benefits

  • No server configuration needed – Works on any hosting, including shared hosting.
  • Reliable execution – No more missed or delayed notifications.
  • Set and forget – Once enabled, it runs in the background automatically.
