Custom data in client’s profile (Customer Information Add-on)

If you want to extend a customer profile with additional data about the client, Customer Information Add-on will give you this option. Create various types of custom fields with different questions and collect the required info right in the Customers section in Bookly.

Setup and configuration

1. Purchase, download and activate Customer Information Add-on in Plugins.

2. In Bookly menu > Appearance > Details tab, make sure that the box next to the ‘Show customer information’ option is checked. This way, customer information fields will be displayed in your booking form.

3. You’ll see a Customer Information tab in the left sidebar menu in Bookly menu. To add a custom field, select the type* of it, press + button and enter the question.


All custom fields can be rearranged just as you need by dragging the sandwich icon. These fields will appear on the Details step of the booking process, just below the personal info fields.

If you select the custom field to be a Required field, your clients won’t be able to complete the booking before they answer your questions.

4. All info the client inputs in custom fields will be stored in Customers section in Bookly.



*Custom fields types

  • Text field can be filled in by the customer.
  • Text area – an element of the booking form interface, which you can place above or below the fields that customers will have to fill out (or choose an option from).
  • Text content will be displayed as simple text.
  • Checkbox Group – customers will be able to choose several options within a group of choices.
  • Radio Button Group is a list of elements with only one possible choice.
  • Drop Down – customers will be able to choose one answer from the list.

    Can this information be included with the Email notifications? I know Extra fields can, but I can't see the options for this.

    Hi, currently, there's no option to return this information to email notification.

    Based on @Houndz Around question, I think this should have been in the initial rollout. I am sure you know this would have been expected or asked of users of the plugin -add-o. If it is information asked for in the form then that information is essential as well in email notifications. A bit of common sense here wouldnt you agree?

    How could you make styling of this form easily without coding and css? It seems like the more added custom fields. spacing is bigger instead of neat and tidy

    If a customer fills in a required form in the booking (a Waiver of Indemnity), do they have to fill that in every time they book in future - or is it possible for it be saved in the Customer Profile and not required again?

    Hi, it will be saved in the customer's profile, though if you don't want to customers to fill it in every time, customers will need to be logged in with their WP user accounts.

    I have bought customer information add-on. Great add-on but unfortunately only visible in admin.

    Considering it's the health professionals (or any service personnel) who should know the customer's special requirements and not necessarily the admin - reception, you need to add customer information shortcodes for staff email / calendar / G calendar.

    I am confused about which add on to get Custom fields or customer service add on. My client is a trainer and needs to ask indemnity questions prior to a booking being made... Bookings can only be made on my site after first purchasing a pass and then logging in.

    Will both of these add ons add this data to their profile?
    And will the client be forced to refill it each time they book?
    OR will it be there but prefilled?
    OR can you ask it to only show if they haven't filled it before?

    AND.. why is it so hard to add these shortcodes to notifications?

    Is there a separate notification that could be sent to the client with these extra fields of data for their records?
    Or can they only see this data on record in their wp profile once logged in?
