Advanced Google Calendar Add-on

You can integrate Bookly with Google Calendar and choose one of three modes of synchronization.

The default configuration of Bookly includes the following synchronization modes:

  • One-way sync
  • Two-way front-end only

Advanced Google Calendar add-on enables you to get a full two-way synchronization between two calendars to keep all your Bookly calendar data and any further schedule updates in sync with Google Calendar. All bookings created or updated in Bookly Calendar will be automatically reflected in the Google Calendar, and vice versa.

Setup

1. Purchase, download and activate the Advanced Google Calendar add-on in Plugins.

2. First, follow the instructions in this guide or in Settings > Google Calendar (admin area of your Bookly) to set up the connection between your Google Account and Bookly Calendar.

3. Before you select the synchronization type and click Save, you should implement "incremental synchronization", verify and register your domain. Please read carefully the instructions in this document.

Important: for two-way sync, your website must use HTTPS. Google Calendar API will be able to send notifications to HTTPS address only if there is a valid SSL certificate installed on your web server.

4. From the Synchronization mode drop-down, select Two-way sync. Click Save.

Bookly Advanced Google Calendar add-on is available for purchase here.

Is it possible to get reminder activated with the items sync from bookley to Google?.. Due to lack or memory on people, it is needed to activate reminder. Doing this manually isnt cutting it. So asking if there is a reminder option to activate on bookings in this Bookly calendar that sync to Google.

Hi Kim, I apologize, I didn't understand your inquiry. Could you please provide more details about what reminders are you referring to.

Really?.. What was there to not understand?....
Reminder, Ding, Dong, Sound, THings from speaker, Reminder in form of sound!.. Not a silent Calendar people are forgetting to look at, and forget bookings and appointments.

And, Doing this manual after bookings, is not sollution and not really a work-around also. Bookings need to contain an flag or what ever code to set a alert/sound notification! Or this is completly useless.

If reminder/sound/notification is possible from bookly to Google calendar, i buy this.

    Hey Ladela

What is exactely the difference between the standard sync and this plugin? (what is the benefit of this plugin compared to the standard bookly tool)?

    Thanks

    Hi Simon,

The difference between the standard synchronization and the advanced synchronization is that - when you create an event in google calendar and custom appointment will be created in Bookly, while for the standard synchronization when you create an event in google calendar it will block the time slot in the front-end in the booking form.

    Hello!

I wanted to know if you could use repeat events in Google Calendar so they will "block" or create custom services in Bookly. I have developed this functionality on my own as my staff has rotating ROTA, so everyweek they have a different schedule.

Could I create then the non available slots directly in google calendar (using the Google repeater functions)?

Hi Israel, yes could try creating recurring events for this case and besides that I advise to check the special days add-on. This add-on offers the option to add days with a different schedule, that will override the weekly schedule. Here you can check the demo: https://www.booking-wp-plugin.com/demo/special-days/

Hi just want to know, if event in Google Calendar, is just a reminder (free), will it block the timeslot in Bookly? Or will only event marked as busy block time slot in Bookly? I don't want event marked as free to block the time slot.

Hi Sigurður, if you create an event in google calendar it will create an appointment in Bookly with a custom service.

    Hi
Yes I know, only thing I'm asking is if I create an event in Google Calendar and the event is marked free, will it take up timeslot in Bookly, or will it only take up time slot if the event in Google Calendar is marked as Busy.

Quote "when you create an event in google calendar and custom appointment will be created in Bookly"

What level of detail can you enter in Google Calendar? i.e. can you enter customer name, service, notes....?

Hi, you can use the "Copy Google Calendar event titles" option, if it's enabled then titles of Google Calendar events will be copied to Bookly appointments. If disabled, a standard title "Google Calendar event" will be used. The customer name, service, notes and other fields won't be copied to Bookly.
